Restaurant Sign & Badge Calculator

For pieces tied to people, multiply the number of staff by the pieces each one gets, then add other items and spares. The Table Number Co calculator does that sum with your figures. Restaurants use it for badges and nameplates. For signs that sit on tables, the table sign planner is the closer fit.

Build your plan

Set spares yourself. This calculates the quantities you enter; it does not assume a recommended buffer.

The decision behind a dining-room sign order

Count the layout you will actually operate, including terrace tables and movable stations. A table number, menu QR sign and reserved marker may share a style but serve different actions. If two messages occupy opposite faces of one piece, count the physical piece once and specify both artwork faces.

Keep with your brief: Table range, faces per sign, approved destination link and cleaning conditions.

Understand what the result means

(Units × pieces per unit) + additional category pieces + spare pieces

The total is a physical inventory count. It does not determine the number of unique artwork files, names, packages or delivery destinations. Keep those details alongside the result so the quote can distinguish repeated designs from individually personalized pieces.

How many badges does a front-of-house team need?

A floor manager is ordering a Staff Nameplate & Badge for each of fourteen front-of-house staff. Uniforms rotate through the laundry, so she wants two badges per person and enters fourteen and two. Three counter nameplates, for the host stand, the bar and the manager's desk, go in as additional pieces. She types two blank spares for new starters. The result is thirty-three: twenty-eight badges, three nameplates and two blanks. She writes the split under the total before sending it to Table Number Co. A worn badge and a counter nameplate are different formats, and the blanks will need names engraved later.

Check these details before using the result

Mixing badges with table signs
Run people and tables as separate counts. A badge total folded into a table total cannot be quoted cleanly.
Ordering one badge per server
Ask how uniforms are washed and swapped. If a badge stays on a jacket in the laundry, each person may need a second.
Counting kitchen staff by habit
Decide who wears a name on the floor. Cooks behind a closed pass may not need one, while an open kitchen might.

Custom Table Number Signs

Check the numbers at the distance staff will read them, especially easily confused pairs such as 6 and 9. Choose a stable display format and list the exact sequence, including any intentionally skipped table numbers.

QR Code Menu Sign

Use a web address you control so menu updates do not require new signs. Test the supplied code at its proposed printed size on several phones, and include a readable alternative address where the layout allows.

Reserved Table Sign

Decide whether staff need a reusable reserved sign or one personalized for a special event. A fixed engraved guest name suits a keepsake; a changeable area is more practical for everyday reservations.

Staff Nameplate & Badge

Confirm preferred display names and choose whether roles need to be replaceable. For wearable badges, specify the attachment and uniform use; a counter nameplate requires a different format from a badge worn during service.

Questions about this calculator

Does the calculator suggest how many spare badges to order?

No. It adds the spares you enter and assumes none. For a restaurant, think about turnover: seasonal hires, trial shifts, a role that changes often. Blank badges cover those cases only if you plan how the name is added afterward, so mention that when you send the count.

Can I use this calculator for table signs as well?

You can, by treating tables as units, but the table sign planner is built for that job and has a field for reserved and host stand pieces. Use this calculator for anything counted per person or per station, such as badges, nameplates or a dedication plaque for each bar seat.

Which host-stand sign construction fits your restaurant entrance?

Choose a Table Number Co host-stand sign by where guests first look and how the display will be supported. For worldwide orders, specify a countertop base, separate floor stand or wall mounting before choosing the face material. A sign face alone does not establish the footprint, height or hardware of the finished display.

How to count table numbers and reserved markers

Use the active table list for number signs and simultaneous use for reserved markers. Keep exact replacement numbers and two-sided objects clear in the count.

Coordinate restaurant table signs across international venues

Build the order around what each sign asks a guest or staff member to do. Count table numbers, menu links, reservation markers and permanent identity signs separately. Approve the destination of every QR code and the language version used at each venue.
